Hillwood have successfully let Unit 6a Access @ Eastern Gateway in Ipswich, comprising 12,897 sq ft, to TPS – a trade-only supplier of genuine Volkswagen Group parts and products in Suffolk. TPS have taken immediate occupation following the speculative scheme’s completion in 2024.
Vanessa Penn, Managing Director of Penn Commercial, commented; “We are thrilled that TPS Ipswich are occupying Unit 6A on a 15-year lease. This represents a significant investment on the part of TPS Ipswich who will be relocating their business from their existing smaller unit on Farthing Road. It is testament to their confidence in the future of the strategic Access @ Eastern Gateway scheme, and we wish them every success in their brand-new, upgraded premises.”
Two further units are formally under offer to occupiers, leaving one unit comprising 52,491 sq ft available for immediate occupation. The scheme is part of the wider Eastern Gateway commercial park, which is now established as Ipswich’s premier industrial and logistics location.
Lambert Smith Hampton, Savills, and Penn Commercial act as retained leasing agents for Hillwood.
Councillor Neil MacDonald, Ipswich Borough Council Leader, said:
“It’s fantastic to see another building at Eastern Gateway now occupied, bringing even more life and opportunity to the area. This development continues to attract businesses that boost our local economy, create jobs, and make a real difference to the community. “From the original vision when Ipswich Borough Council acquired this derelict site in 2014 to this latest milestone, Eastern Gateway is proving to be a great success story for Ipswich, transforming a brownfield site into a hub of employment and growth. With strong interest in the remaining land, I’m confident this site will continue to deliver real benefits for our town.”
